Today’s highlights
Today is gonna be quite a bit of a driving day. On the way to the whale watching we’ll stop at 2-3 attractions on the way depending on time and weather.
If you haven’t booked the Whale Watching tour already and you would like to then click here and book the 15:00 on the day that we depart from our hotel in Reykjavík.
You will be provided with a thermal overall for the whale watching to keep warm. Still good to have your jacket underneath and wear gloves and a hat.

Day 3 - Highlands.

Goðafoss Waterfall - Myvatn Lake - Namaskarð Geothermal Area - Dettifoss Waterfall - Borgarfjörður Eystri.
What do I need today?
No strenuous hiking today. Most of the attractions are just easy walking.
Might be good to have some waterproof/water-resistant clothes for Dettifoss waterfall as the most beautiful viewpoint sometimes get’s a lot of mist.

Dinner
This will be the closest thing to getting an homemade meal in an Icelandic home. The guesthouse will offer a buffet with freshly caught fish, potatoes, salad, barley and various sides. My favourite meal of the trip!
They are able to accomodate those that are vegan or vegeterian. Just let me know.
The price per person is 4440 ISK per person.
Day 4 - Eastern Iceland.

Djúpivogur town - Hengifoss Hike.
What do you need for this day?
We will be doing roughly about an 1.5-2 hour hike today up to a waterfall called Hengifoss. It’s good to be wearing hiking clothes, good boots and bring a water bottle.
You might need waterproof clothing depending on the weather.
It’s going to be mostly uphill but not the trail itself is not technically difficult.
The hike is roughly about 5 km (3 miles) in total and has about 350m (1150 feet) elevation change from the start to the highest point.

Day 5 - Glacier Lagoon & Glacier Hike.

Glacier Hike
Some of you have pre booked the glacier hike. If you haven’t booked but you want to do so you then click here and pick the 14:30 departure. Make sure that you have the right date, send me a quick message on Whatsapp if you are not sure what the date is.
What do I need for today?
For those of you doing a glacier hike today. You will need hiking clothes, boots, and waterproof clothing depending on the weather. You can rent boots, waterproof pants and jackets from the glacier guides on location.
The hiking will be roughly about 1,5-2 hours including hiking to and from the glacier and then on it.

Covid Test
If you need to take a covid test before arriving home then it would be best to either go down to Harpa close to the city center for a Antigen test or take a test at BSÍ bus center before taking the flybus back to the airport.
